"Music is the space between the notes." --Claude DeBussy
I have always loved this quote. It reminds me that the pause is what brings the sounds together. Melodies are enjoyed with the balance of tune and silence.
It's between the busy that we remember our purpose. It's the break from the daily 'grind' to appreciate the work we create. I have many ways I like to enjoy the 'space' between the notes.
Coffee. Conversation with a friend. A work session with my clay doing something completely unplanned. A cuddle with my dog. A kiss to my boyfriend. Acoustic music. A book that is for pleasure reading. Sunsets. Porch Time. Yoga. Planty things. Appreciation. The list goes on...
However you choose to create space contributes to your unqiue melody. Never feel guilty for creating space. Saying I'd love to, but I can't right now or I've already made plans (with my dog) are always acceptable passes. Only you know the song your heart sings, and it is quite okay to turn the volume up.
